Where were you in 1986?
Where were you in 1986? Seriously, think about it. 30 years ago where were you?
Ronald Reagan was President. Ferris Bueller was having his day off. Bon Jovi was belting out “You Give Love a Bad Name”, and the Bangles were talking about a “Manic Monday”. America spent their evenings watching The Cosby Show and Miami Vice – in prime time, not re-runs – and Johnny Carson hosted the Tonight Show. Wow!
Do you know where Larry Lanham was? He was in his home office launching Polymer Packaging. That’s right – PPI was founded 30 years ago. Polymer Packaging is celebrating a Silver Anniversary this year. Picture our organization growing from Larry as a one man show operating from his home office; to the company we are today, with over 50 people and facilities in Sparta, Michigan and Massillon, Ohio!
How did all of this happen? People. People with Passion. People with Integrity. People who care.
In honor of our Silver Anniversary at Polymer Packaging, we decided to celebrate in a giving way. Giving back to our community is a way to strengthen our team and to extend our theme of People, Passion and Integrity. Here is what we accomplished:
- Tuesday, March 31st 2011 PPI we hosted a Blood Drive to support Aultman Hospital and Habitat for Humanity.
- Wednesday, June 22nd 2011 we built Three Habitat for Humanity Homes. We closed our offices and worked on three Habitat for Humanity homes here in Massillon. We had some fun, showed off our people & teamwork and made a difference in a community that has given us so much. In honor of our people, we celebrated that afternoon with a company picnic. Fun was had by all!
- PPI adopted a two mile stretch of State Route 30. As a part of our 30th Anniversary give back theme, we sponsored this area and plan to work diligently to do our part in maintaining this vital resource and main artery to our Massillon Plant.
Thank you for your continued confidence, support and business. It is truly about People, Passion and Integrity!
